Often trying to understand what to wear to dance class seems overwhelming but, it can be simple with the right information.
How do you Dress for Dance Class
Through the years, of teaching dance in Belleville, Michigan one thing I have notice it is important for a person to understand a dress code policy for safely and wellness. Having proper attire that one can move easily in, material that is breathable and creates confidences will ensure a successful dance class.

- A neat and tidy appearance sets an attitude of attentiveness and respect for students, teachers, and the art of dance. Looking the part while attending class is an investment to gain the benefits of movement.
- Having a dress code in place enable the teacher to see the body outline clearly in order to provide proper corrections on posture and alignment. Wearing loose-fitting pants, blue jeans or t-shirts can resist and individual from moving properly and not beneficial for the student nor teacher.
- Be cautious completely Bare Legs can cause oils to spread on others and on surfaces such as the dance floor creating a slippery surface.
- Having Hair secured and tied up off of the face and neck for all styles of dance will eliminate distractions while dancing. Wear long hair in a bun, braid, ponytail.
- Jewelry must not be loose or dangling to prevent injury while movement is happening.
- Chewing gum and other candies are not allowed because of the danger of choking. Clear liquids such as water in a spill proof water bottle is nice to stay hydrated.
